Project: Rhubarb Twin Room
Location: Suffolk.
Characterful twin room in warm rhubarb tones and layered textures
A former home office: functional, forgotten, and dominated by floor‑to‑ceiling cupboards that swallowed the space. Plenty of light, but no warmth or personality.
The brief was to reclaim it entirely, creating a twin room with real character — something inviting rather than improvised.
Neptune’s Rhubarb, a deep confident pink, was used across the walls and bespoke joinery. The result is a room that leads with colour and feels intentional, grounded and full of charm.

Design Direction:
The architecture in this room was tricky; irregular ceilings and a very visible fuse‑box cupboard with no door. The design softens and distracts from those flaws rather than highlight them. Rhubarb on the walls and joinery creates a unified backdrop; the colour, proportion and detailing pull the eye to what’s intentional and away from what isn’t. Natural textures and simple lines keep the room calm, while the palette gives it warmth and character. The result is a twin room that feels considered, inviting and far more balanced than the architecture alone would allow.

Revealing the Room
The transformation came from giving the room a unified identity. With colour, texture and proportion working together, the space shifted from unused and awkward to warm, balanced and quietly characterful.
